Equal Opportunity Day educates the public and corporate and civic leaders about the challenges of achieving equality while honoring local equal opportunity advocates. Today, this tradition takes on added urgency as the disparities for the working poor and families in poverty intensify in a challenging economy.

  • Education:  increasing funding to common education and raising teacher pay so we can recruit and retain the best and brightest teachers in the state, region and nation;
  • Criminal justice reform:  expanding and replicating highly successful programs like “Women in Recovery Program” that changes the way we see the person who is in a cycle of incarceration for non-violent crimes;
  • Job creation:  expanding Oklahoma’s Quick Action Closing Fund to increase our ability to attract high paying jobs to Oklahoma.
